David Black and Zucker would come out hot in the second half, combining to hit six three pointers in the first eight minutes, as the Spartans built an 11-point lead, 58-47, with 11:46 to play.  Bethany would eventually climb back in the game, going on a 10-0 run starting at the 3:12 mark to take a 70-68 lead with 44 seconds remaining.  CWRU freshman Sam Hansen knocked down a pair of free throws with 24 seconds left, and a missed jumper at the buzzer by Bethany sent the game into overtime.

Case Western Reserve grabbed an early four-point lead following a pair of free throws by Hansen and a layup by Alvarez in overtime, but Bethany answered back again, taking the lead for good with 1:12 remaining in overtime, and leading by as many as five in the extra period, before closing out the 86-82 win.
