After an accomplied collegiate career as a running back, Sam Kukura joined the Case Western Reserve University football staff as an offensive assistant prior to the start of the 2019 season.
Kukura was a standout player for John Carroll, earning All-Ohio Athletic Conference Second Team honors in 2016, rushing for 821 yards, scoring 14 touchdowns, and leading the team to the NCAA Semifinals. During his three seasons with the team, he ran for 1,513 yards and totaled 25 touchdowns.
Kukura joined the John Carroll squad after spending a year at Kent State University, where he was named to the Mid-American Conference All-Academic Team in 2015. Prior to his collegiate career, Kukura was an All-Ohio First Team player for Kirtland High School, leading the team to state championships in 2011 and 2013. He has also worked as the Strength & Conditioning Intern at Perry High School, training middle school and high school athletes.
Kukura received his Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree from John Carroll in 2018, majoring in Exercise Science.
