CWRU Football Receives Votes in Initial Top-25

The Case Western Reserve University football team received votes in the Preseason Top-25, released by the website on Thursday afternoon.

This is the fourth-straight year that the Spartans have either been ranked or received votes in the Preseason Poll.  CWRU was ranked 23rd in the website's preseason poll in 2018, 22nd in 2017, and received votes in 2016.

The Spartans, who finished the 2018 season with an 8-2 overall record, will be returning 18 starters from last year's team, including eight all-conference honorees, headlined by All-American defensive end and PAC Defensive Player of the Year Cameron Brown, PAC Newcomer of the Year and All-Region Third Team quarterback Drew Saxton, and All-Region Second Team wide receiver Colt Morgan.

The Spartans were recently picked to finish second in the Presidents' Athletic Conference at the 2019 PAC Football Media Day on Tuesday.  CWRU is slated to host Washington & Jefferson, which was ranked 21st in poll and picked to win the conference, as a part of Homecoming Weekend on October 12th.

CWRU will kick off its 2019 season on the road against the University of Rochester on Saturday, September 7th at 7:00 p.m. in Rochester, New York.
