    The bracket for the 2019 NCAA Division III Football Championships was revealed on Sunday night, with the 20th/15th-ranked Case Western Reserve University football team will travel to Schenectady, New York to face 14th/16th-ranked Union College on Saturday, November 23rd at noon.

    In another iteration of the Academic Bowl that came down to the final snap of the game, the 20th/15th-ranked Case Western Reserve University Spartans fell just short to the Carnegie Mellon University Tartans, dropping a 24-21 decision at Gesling Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday.
  • Six CWRU Football Players Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

    Six members of the Case Western Reserve University football team – junior running back Zach Hall, junior offensive lineman Dee Gose, sophomore kicker Robertson Albrecht, senior defensive lineman Andrew Lease, junior linebacker Travis Johnston and senior defensive back Patrick Crossey – were named to the Academic All-District Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

    Fresh off clinching sole possession of the 2019 Presidents’ Athletic Conference Championship last weekend, the 20th/15th-ranked Case Western Reserve University football team will look to complete just the sixth undefeated regular season in program history, when the team faces off against Carnegie Mellon University in the 34th-annual Academic Bowl in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday, November 16th. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

    Case Western Reserve University junior linebacker Joshua Smith was selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week and was named the University Athletic Association Defensive Athlete of the Week, while junior linebacker/punter/kick returner/running back Travis Johnston was chosen as the UAA Special Teams Player of the Week.

  • TIME CHANGE: CWRU FOOTBALL START TIME AT CMU MOVED TO 1 PM

    A time change has been announced for the Case Western Reserve University football game on Saturday, November 16th at Carnegie Mellon University. Kickoff has been moved up to 1:00 p.m. in order to accommodate the NCAA soccer tournament games at CMU on Saturday.

    The Case Western Reserve University football team, ranked 20th in the latest D3football.com Top-25 and 15th in the AFCA rankings, will look to secure the first outright Presidents’ Athletic Conference Championship in program history and the automatic bid to the NCAA playoffs associated with it with a win on Saturday, November 9th at Waynesburg University in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

    Case Western Reserve University senior defensive end Cameron Brown and junior linebacker Travis Johnston were named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively, while junior wide receiver Colt Morgan was selected as the University Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week, after the trio helped lead the 20th-ranked Spartans to a conference-clinching 35-14 win over Bethany College on Saturday.

  • #21/17 Spartans Pull Away From Bethany on ‘Senior Day,’ Clinch Share of PAC Title

    On “Senior Day” at DiSanto Field, the #21/17 Case Western Reserve University football team used three second half touchdowns to pull away from Bethany in a 35-14 win to clinch at least a share of the Presidents’ Athletic Conference title on Saturday afternoon. The Spartans (8-0, 7-0 PAC) need just one win more to clinch the outright title and the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA playoffs. Bethany fell to 3-5 and 3-4 in the PAC.
  • Wyant Varsity Club Open to Students for Saturday’s Football Game

    Case Western Reserve University students are invited to watch Saturday’s ‘Senior Day’ football game from the balcony of the Varsity Club inside the Wyant Athletic and Wellness Center. The game against Bethany College is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff on November 2nd, and will be preceded by the ‘Senior Day’ ceremony.

  • #21/17 Spartans Aim to Clinch Share of PAC Title during ‘Senior Day’ Saturday against Bethany

    The no. 21/17 Case Western Reserve University Spartans (7-0, 6-0 PAC) will play their final home game of the 2019 regular season on Saturday, November 2nd, as they look to lock up at least a share of the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Championship against Bethany College (3-4, 3-3 PAC).  Saturday’s game, which is slated for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff, will also mark ‘Senior Day’ for CWRU, as the team will honor its graduating class with a special ceremony prior to the start of the game.

  • #21/17 Spartans Hold On Against Geneva, 30-23

    On a rain-soaked Saturday afternoon in Cleveland, Ohio, the #21/17 Case Western Reserve University football team prevailed over Geneva College 30-23 at DiSanto Field. After leading 24-7 at the half, the Spartans (7-0, 6-0 PAC) held on for the victory to remain undefeated on the season and in first place in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference. The Golden Tornadoes drop to 3-5 on the season and 3-4 in the PAC.
