UAA Cancels All Formal Spring Sport Conference Competition for 2021
January 12, 2021The University Athletic Association Presidents Council has unanimously approved a resolution to cancel all formal UAA spring sport competition for the 2020-21 season. For Case Western Reserve University, those sports include baseball, softball, outdoor track & field and tennis. -

UAA Conversations About Race and Racism: Bianca Smith
January 07, 2021Bianca Smith, who served four years as director of baseball operations and graduate assistant coach at Case Western Reserve University while earning her law degree and MBA, was recently named a minor league coach in the Boston Red Sox organization, becoming the first Black woman coach in professional baseball. A 2012 Dartmouth College graduate, Smith served as an assistant coach at the University of Dallas in 2018 and an assistant coach/hitting coordinator at Carroll University. She has interned with Major League Baseball, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Texas Rangers. -
CWRU Alumna & Former Director of Baseball Operations Bianca Smith Hired by Red Sox as Minor League Coach
January 05, 2021Bianca Smith, a Case Western Reserve double alumna who served as the Director of Baseball Operations from 2013-17, was hired by the Boston Red Sox as a minor league coach, becoming the first Black woman to coach in professional baseball. -

November 19, 2020Clarence “Tre” Armstrong III is a senior baseball student-athlete at Case Western Reserve University. He is a pre-med student majoring in nutritional biochemistry & metabolism with a minor in sports medicine. Armstrong earned UAA All-Academic recognition each of the past two seasons. -
