    ALLIANCE, Ohio – For the second-consecutive season, Case Western Reserve University junior pitcher Jamie Hora (Twinsburg, Ohio/Twinsburg) has been named to the 2012 American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Mideast Region Team, announced by the ABCA on Wednesday.

    PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Sixty-two Case Western Reserve University student-athletes spanning six athletic teams were named to the 2011-12 University Athletic Association Spring All-Academic team. Within the UAA, All-Academic Recognition is awarded to student-athletes who have completed at least one full year of college study and who carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.300.

    GREENCASTLE, Ind. – Freshman third baseman Andrew Gronski (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) went 5-for-8 at the plate for the day, including a career-high three hits in game two, and freshman righthander Kevin Johnstone tossed a career-best 8.2 innings on the mound in the nightcap leading the Case Western Reserve University baseball team to a doubleheader sweep versus No.11-nationally ranked DePauw University (Ind.) on Saturday, April 21 at Walker Field. The Spartans won the seven-inning opener, 4-3, before completing the sweep via a come-from-behind nine-inning 8-5 victory in the nightcap.

The game marks the eighth-consecutive season in which the Spartans played a game at the home of the Cleveland Indians and the second-straight year the team won via the walk-off.

The Spartans won the opener, 8-4, but the Fighting Scots rallied from two runs down late in the nightcap to win in walk-off fashion, 5-4.
