Spartan Baseball's Sam Alexander Earns Second Straight UAA Athlete of the Week Honor

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – For the second consecutive week, Case Western Reserve University junior rightfielder Sam Alexander (Alexandria, Va./T.C. Williams) has been selected as University Athletic Association Hitter of the Week, announced the league office on Monday, April 25.

Alexander batted .467 (7-of-15) with a homerun and seven runs batted-in during a 4-0 week for the Spartans. He also doubled and tripled, as well as walking twice and scoring six runs.

For the season, Alexander is hitting .387 with four homers, 50 RBI and a team-high 18 doubles and five triples.

The Spartans have won 16-of-18 to improve to 30-12 this season. Case's final regular season game is scheduled for Wednesday, April 27 versus local-rival John Carroll University at 4:00 p.m. at Nobby's Ballpark. The team will then await a possible Pool B or Pool C selection into the NCAA Division III Championship.
