PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Case Western Reserve University senior third baseman Chad Mullins (Fredericksburg, OH/Waynedale) rode a scorching hot week at the plate to earn University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week honors for the third time this season, the league office announced on Monday, April 4.
Mullins posted a batting average of .765 (13-of-17) with a homerun and 11 RBI during a 5-0 week for the Spartans. The Fredericksburg-native also walked four times, doubled twice and scored eight runs. A D3baseball.com Preseason All-American, Mullins has helped spur the Spartans to a 19-10 mark this spring and has recorded at least one hit and RBI in each of his last seven games.
The Spartan baseball team is back in action with a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 6 against Hiram College. The games will be played in Youngstown at Cene Park and are scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. start.
