  • Mullins Named ABCA/Rawlings First-Team All-American; Three Others Receive All-Region Recognition

    MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Just days after being named the D3Baseball.com National Player of the Year, Case Western Reserve University’s record-breaking third baseman Chad Mullins (Fredericksburg, Ohio/Waynedale) has another piece of hardware to add to his trophy case. The senior slugger has been tabbed as an American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings first-team All-American. In addition to Mullins, two other Spartans earned All-Mideast Region honors and another was honored with a Gold Glove Award.

    MARIETTA, Ohio – A historic season came to a close for the Case Western Reserve University baseball team on Saturday, May 21, as the Spartans fell 16-6 against second-seeded and No. 10 nationally-ranked Heidelberg University in an elimination game at the 2011 NCAA Mideast Regional at Don Schaly Stadium. CWRU closes its season with a 33-15 overall record.

    MARIETTA, Ohio – A nine-run first inning propelled the Case Western Reserve University baseball team to its second win of the day, 10-4, over Franklin College (Ind.) at the 2011 NCAA Mideast Regional. With the win, the Spartans stay alive in the tournament to play tomorrow and improve to 33-14 overall on the season.
