Last Week's Recap
Women's Basketball (1-1)
- Fell to Capital 59-54 in overtime on Wednesday night in Columbus, Ohio, before defeating Thiel 91-50 on Saturday afternoon at Horsburgh Gymnasium in Cleveland
- Senior guard/forward Emily Plachta led all Spartans with 14.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, adding two assists, four blocks, and four steals
- The 91 points were the most by a Spartan team since a 108-52 win over Pitt Greensburg on December 19, 2024 and tied for the 21st most in a single game in program history
Men's Basketball (0-2)
- Lost both matchups at the Great Lakes Invitational in Washington, Pennsylvania, falling to host Washington & Jefferson 70-69 on Friday night and Trinity (Texas) 75-59 on Saturday night
- First-year forward Alex Vincent led the Spartans with 13.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, adding four assists, two blocks, and two steals
Wrestling
- Finished third out of 13 teams at the BW Invitational hosted by Baldwin Wallace in Berea, Ohio, on Saturday
- Senior Art Martinez, the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week, won the 133-pound bracket with a 4-0 record
- 14 members of the team placed in the top eight, including five finalists
#7 Men's and #15 Women's Swimming and Diving
- The teams' swimmers competed at the Total Performance Invite in Gambier, Ohio, from Thursday-Saturday while the divers went to Chicago for the Phoenix Fall Classic on Saturday and Sunday
- Senior John Drumm won the 200 Fly with a time of 1:47.69 and broke his own school record in the 500 Free in 4:27.53
- Senior Claire Kozma recorded NCAA B cut times in the 100 Free, 100 Fly, 200 Free Relay, and 400 Free Relay. She ranks eighth in Division III in the 100 Free and seventh nationally in the other three events
Men's and Women's Cross Country
- Sent three runners to the NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday in Spartanburg, South Carolina
- For the men's team, sophomore Donovan Crowley placed 42nd and junior Jacob Slater finished 99th
- For the women's team, first-year Francesca Taracila finished 74th overall and seventh among first-year runners
