Jon Schwartz is the Associate Athletic Director and Sports Information Director at Case Western Reserve University. After joining the department in the summer of 2015 as an assistant athletic director, he was promoted to his current position in the summer of 2019.
Schwartz's responsibilities at CWRU include include public relations and media coordination for all 19 varsity sports at CWRU, including issuing releases, live video webcasts of home events, publications, scholarship applications, distribution of information on all social platforms, and upkeep of the Spartans' official website, athletics.case.edu. His duties as Associate Athletic Director involve sports supervision of both the baseball and women's soccer programs.
Schwartz spent the past 13 years working at Emory University, the first four as a student assistant at the University Athletic Association (UAA) institution and the last nine as Assistant Sports Information Director.
At Emory, Schwartz directly managed public relations and media coordination for men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s track and field, men’s and women’s swimming, women’s tennis and baseball, while assisting in various capacities in all other Eagle sports. He coordinated the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship program that produced 43 winners in nine years, second in all NCAA divisions behind only Division I Stanford University.
Schwartz, who served as the official scorekeeper and webcast director at the UAA Baseball Championship in Sanford, Florida from 2007-16, also served as the official scorekeeper of the Atlanta Braves’ Triple-A affiliate Gwinnett Braves of the International League since 2012. He has worked in various on-air capacities for the home broadcasts of the Atlanta Silverbacks of the North American Soccer League for the past four years.
Schwartz earned his degree from the Goizueta Business School at Emory with concentrations in finance, accounting, and business law. He resides in Solon with his wife, Marcie and their son, Cody.
