Over the course of the next two months, athletics.case.edu will be holding a tournament to decide the Case Western Reserve University Athlete of the Decade. The full bracket can be viewed here.
The first round will continue today, as former men's soccer player Vinny Bell will face off against former women's swimmer Suhan Mestha. Voting begins at noon on Wednesday, and will continue through 11:59 a.m. on Thursday.
First Round Match #11 - Vinny Bell vs. Suhan Mestha
Vinny Bell ('12) ended his career as the only two-time NSCAA All-American in program history. He was named to the NSCAA All-America Second Team and D3soccer.com All-America First Team in 2011, while also claiming UAA Most Valuable Player honors for the second-straight season, setting the program's single-season records for goals (20) and points (50) during the campaign. He is a three-time All-UAA First Team honoree, and still holds the program's career records with 43 goals and 101 points. Suhan Mestha ('19) is a three-time All-American for the CWRU swimming and diving team, earning honorable mention certificates with a 14th-place finishes in the 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard medley relay as a junior, and with a 14th-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle as a senior. She set and still holds school records in the 50 free (23.42) and 100 back (56.09), and was part of the program's record-setting 200-yard medley (1:44.02), 200-yard free (1:34.95) and 400-yard free (3:28.84) relay teams.
