Over the course of the next two months, athletics.case.edu will be holding a tournament to decide the Case Western Reserve University Athlete of the Decade. The full bracket can be viewed here.

Our second week of voting, which will feature four more first-round match-ups, begins today with a contest between former softball player Annie Wennerberg and former women's basketball player Evy Iacono. Voting for today's match opens at noon on Monday, and will continue thought 11:59 a.m. on Tuesday.

First-Round Match #5 - Annie Wennerberg vs. Evy Iacono

Annie Wennerberg ('17) was the Spartans' top performer both on the mound and at the plate during her time at CWRU. She was named to the NFCA All-America First Team in 2015, when she led all Division III players with 20 home runs, while going 15-7 on the mound. She also earned UAA Player of the Year honors following the campaign. Her 33 career home runs and 53 wins are each the most ever by a Spartan, while she also ranks fourth in program history with 113 RBIs, fifth with 116 runs scored, third with 35 stolen bases, eight shutouts and 389 strikeouts. Evy Iacono ('13) ended her career as a Spartan as one of the most decorated players in the program's history. She was named the University Athletic Association Player of the Year and a D3hoops.com All-America honorable mention following her senior campaign in 2012-13, becoming just the second player in the history of the CWRU women's basketball team to secure each honor. She currently ranks fifth in program history with 1,352 career points, second with 179 made threes, and sixth with 334 career assists and 200 steals. Read more about Evy in her online bio.
