Martinez placed sixth at 133 pounds at the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Wrestling Championships last weekend at the Alliant Power House in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. With the top-eight finish, Martinez became the program's first All-American in 14 years and the team's first-ever at the weight class. He went 3-3 during the championship with a pin across two days of action. On the first day, Martinez, seeded eighth in the draw, defeated ninth-seeded Chance Suddeth by sudden-victory 4-1 in the round of 16. In the quarterfinals, Martinez fell by decision, 10-4, to top-seeded Garrett Totten of TCNJ. With his season on the line in the consolation bracket, Martinez secured All-America honors with a pin of Coast Guard's Marvin Armistead in 4:31, clinching at least an eighth-place finish at the meet. On the second day, Martinez defeated Wyatt Unser of Wisconsin-Eau Claire by decision, 13-12, before losing to second-seeded Jake Craig (Southern Maine) and sixth-seeded Patrick Mullen (Wartburg) to finish sixth in the bracket. Martinez finished the 2025-26 season with a record of 36-7, including 11 pins and 10 technical falls and ended his career with an overall record of 140-39, the second-most wins in program history.
