Goldman won a bracket for the first time in his career on Saturday at the 39th Annual John Summa Invitational hosted by Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio. Goldman went 3-0 in the 197-pound bracket with two wins by major decision to place first in the weight class. He started his day with an 11-0 major decision over Chris Howatt of Niagara CC and advanced to the final with a 13-4 major decision over Alfred State's Hunter LaVigne. In the final, Goldman faced Otterbein's Karson Nail. The Spartan wrestler secured a takedown in the first period and allowed an escape. He escaped from the bottom position in the second period to take a 4-1 lead and allowed only an escape in the final frame to hold on for a 4-2 decision in the championship match. The Spartan wrestling team placed first at the invitational for the first time in program history with 276.0 points. Goldman improved to 12-4 this season at 197 pounds with three pins and two technical falls.
