Cross Country Heads to Meadville, PA for the Allegheny Classic

The Case Western Reserve University men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Meadville, Pennsylvania this weekend for the Allegheny Cross Country Classic, hosted by Allegheny College, on Saturday, September 16th.

The day will begin with the men's four-mile race, slated for a 10:00 a.m. start.  The women's three-mile race will follow, with a scheduled start time of 10:40 a.m.

The majority of the Case Western Reserve squad is slated to be in action at the meet, the team's third of the season.  The Allegheny Invitational will also provide a tune-up for the team for the All-Ohio Championships, scheduled for September 29.

Both the CWRU men and women were ranked seventh in the USTFCCCA's first Great Lakes Region poll, which was released earlier this week.  The women slid up three spots from the preseason rankings, while the men dropped two places from their preseason slot.

Results and a recap of the Spartans' performances at the meet will be posted to athletics.case.edu following the completion of competition on Saturday.
