Spartan Duo Earns UAA Athlete of the Week Honors
PITTSFORD, N.Y. - Case Western Reserve University senior women's cross country All-American Justine Jeroski (Murrysville, PA/Franklin) and sophomore women's tennis athlete Samantha Lewis (Nashville, TN/Harpeth Hall) were both awarded University Athletic Association Player of the Week honors for their performances this weekend.
Jeroski finished second of 178 runners overall to lead the Spartans to a second-place team finish at the Carnegie Mellon University (PA) Mideast Pre-Regional on Saturday, September 25. Case placed two runners in the top-five spots and were led by Jeroski's time of 22:20.
Lewis was one of several Spartans to post 4-0 marks while competing at No. 2 singles and doubles as Case posted back-to-back wins on Saturday in dual matches against Baldwin-Wallace College and John Carroll University.
The cross country team is back in action this Friday, October 1 at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Cedarville University at 2:00 p.m. The tennis team is at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional Championship at Washington University (MO) in St. Louis on Friday-Sunday.
