Spartan Runners Open at Wooster Invite
WOOSTER, Ohio – Select members of the Case Western Reserve University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the College of Wooster Invitational on Wednesday, September 1 at LC Bole Golf Course. The rest of the squad is set to compete at this Saturday's Bill Sudeck Classic.
Saturday's meet is the 10th annual Sudeck Classic and was named in honor of the legendary former coach who passed away in August of 2000. Action from Squire Valleevue Farm is set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
At the Wooster Invite, the Spartan women's runners competed in the 4k and the men ran in the 5k.
Freshman Allison Magee had the top finish for the women, placing 13th in 16:48.00. Sophomore Megan Milne (Naperville, IL/Naperville North) was 21st in 17:47.50, freshman Emily Dunham was 26th in 18:12.10 and freshman Brooke Simpson was 30th in 18:35.30.
The Spartan men placed three freshmen in the top 15. Dishen Lin was eighth in 18:17.82, Corey Williams was 13th in 18:52.79 and Alex Flick was 15th in 19:01.26.
Following Saturday's Sudeck Classic, the Spartans are back in action on Saturday, September 18 at the Penn State-Behrend University Invitational at 11:00 a.m. in Erie, Pennsylvania.
