The Case Western Reserve University men's and women's track and field teams will open its 2017 outdoor season this weekend, when the team travels to Lexington, Virginia for the W&L Carnival, hosted by Washington and Lee University, on Friday, March 17th and Saturday, March 18th.

Action at the meet is slated to begin with the women's hammer throw on Friday, March 17th at 10:00 a.m. with collegiate track events starting at 4:30 p.m. with the 1,500-meter run. The first day will conclude with the 10,000-meter run at 7:55 p.m.
The meet will resume on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with the women's shot put, and on the track at with the 4x100-meter relay at 11:00 a.m. Action is slated to wrap up at 3:40 p.m. with the 200-meter dash.
Schools currently scheduled to attend the meet, in addition to Case Western Reserve and host Washington and Lee, include Alderson, Broaddus, Bridgewater (Va.), Bluffton, Carnegie Mellon, Davis & Elkins, Eastern Mennonite, Lynchburg, Randolph, Roanoke, Shenandoah, Southern Virginia, West Liberty and West Virginia Tech.
Results and a recap of the Spartans' performances at the meet will be posted to athletics.case.edu following the completion of competition on Saturday.
