This weekend, members of the Case Western Reserve University men's and women's track and field teams will be competing in the Greater Cleveland Colleges Meet hosted by Baldwin Wallace University on Friday, February 17th at the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse.
Last season, the men's team finished first of four teams at the Greater Cleveland Colleges Meet having scored 190 points, while the women finished second of six teams with 125 team points.
Last weekend, Spartans from the track and field teams competed either at the Mid-February Meet hosted by Baldwin Wallace University or the 2017 All-Ohio Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Otterbein University.
The men's 4x200-meter relay team of junior Adrian Cannon, senior Nico Ericksen-Deriso, junior Andrew Ibibo and senior Nathaniel Wahner highlighted the Spartans performances at the All-Ohio Indoor Championships as they finished first in the event with a time of 1:30.91. Wahner also added a third place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.60 and a sixth place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.50. Ibibo placed fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.27.
Top performance for the women on Saturday included junior Danielle Kulpins crossing the finish line in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:28.69 to place second in the event. Freshman Samantha Kelts added a third place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 10.59 meters.
Each of the Spartans who earned top-three performances in their respective events received All-Ohio recognition for their performances.
The Greater Cleveland Colleges Meet is set to begin with field events at 4:00 p.m. with running events to follow at 6:00 p.m. For more meet information, CLICK HERE.
