Hollinger Earns Final UAA Field Athlete of the Week Honor

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Following her fourth career All-American performance this past weekend, Case Western Reserve University senior Erin Hollinger (Chardon, Ohio/Chardon) has been selected as the University Athletic Association Women's Field Athlete of the Week, announced the league office on Wednesday.

Hollinger, a five-time UAA Athlete of the Week this season, placed fourth in the nation in the high jump on Friday, May 25 at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship in Claremont, California. The fourth-year Spartan matched a season-best with a mark of five feet, seven inches, and she also placed 16th in the heptathlon with 4,388 points.

Hollinger earned All-American status both indoors and outdoors this season as she posted a career-best third-place finish at the 2012 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship in Iowa in early March. Her previous two All-American performances came outdoors in 2009 (fifth) and 2011 (fourth).

This past weekend brought an end to Hollinger's remarkable career in a Spartan uniform. Also a four-time All-University Athletic Association forward for the women's basketball program, Hollinger is a four-time Capital One Academic All-American® with three selections for hoops and one for track & field. She is a two-time Glenn and Peggy Nicholls Female Athlete of the Year award winner as well as a 2012 NCAA Woman of the Year nominee. Overall in track & field, Hollinger won six UAA high jump titles (three indoor/three outdoor) in addition to her four All-American performances.
