OBERLIN, Ohio – The Case Western Reserve University women's tennis team had a two-match win streak snapped by Oberlin College, 7-2, on Saturday, March 19 at the Don Hunsinger Courts.
The Spartans had defeated Oberlin in the fall by a score of 5-4, but the Yeowomen were able to exact some revenge after claiming all of the doubles points.
Case got on the board when freshman Kara Richardson (Columbus, OH/Upper Arlington) took her match in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1 at third singles, defeating Oberlin's Finley Gates. At fifth singles, Case picked up its other point from sophomore Kathleen Evers (Cincinnati, OH/Mount Notre Dame), who defeated Preeya Shah in an up-and-down affair, 7-6 (8-6), 1-6, 10-4.
Next up for the Spartans will be Ohio Dominican University on Friday, March 25. First serve is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
