Spartans to Host Gannon, Grove City and Rochester (N.Y.) in Quad Meet this Weekend

The Case Western Reserve University swimming and diving teams will play host to Gannon University, Grove City College and the University Rochester for a quad-meet at the Veale Natatorium on Friday, November 17th and Saturday, November 18th. The diving events are scheduled to take place on Friday starting at 6:00 p.m., while the swimming events will occur on Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m.

The Case Western Reserve men are 3-1 on the year, while the Spartan women are also 3-1 this season and will begin the week ranked 22nd in Division III. CWRU's women are also ranked sixth in the Central Region Poll, while the men are ranked ninth.

Friday and Saturday's meet will be the third of five home meets for the Spartans this season, and the final one of the fall semester. The team will next be at home on Saturday, January 20th against SUNY-Geneseo. In addition, the quad-meet will be the team's final competition before their fall taper meet, the Wooster Invitational, on November 30th – December 2nd.

Gannon, an NCAA Division II program, will enter the meet with a 2-0 men's record and a 1-1 women's ledger. The Spartans and the Golden Knights faced off last season with the CWRU men winning 200-79 and the women claiming a 179-115 victory.

The Grove City men will enter the weekend with a 4-2 record, while the women stand at 1-5. Last season, the Spartan men defeated the Wolverines 180-116, while the CWRU women earned a 166-134 win.

The Rochester men are 4-1 on the season, while the women are also 4-1. The Spartans and the Yellowjackets last met during the UAA Championships last season. The CWRU men and women finished sixth and seventh, respectively. The Rochester men and women finished seventh and sixth, respectively.
