  • Spartan Club Hall of Fame Announces Class of 2017

    The Spartan Club, in coordination with the Case Western Reserve University Department of Athletics, has announced its 2017 Hall of Fame Class – Aaron Johnston-Peck (Cross Country/ Track & Field, CWRU ’07), David Kallevig (Football, CWRU ’05), Carson Oren (Men’s Basketball, CWRU ’06), Meredith Stakem (Swimming & Diving, CWRU ’03), Ed Trebets (Football & Baseball, CWRU ’93), heritage selection Jack Larimer (Track & Field, WRU ’63) and special category inductee Si Ostrach.

  • Spartans Receive Scholar All-America Honors from CSCAA

    The Case Western Reserve University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams were each designated as Scholar All-America Teams by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for their academic performance during the 2017 Spring semester, while three members of the CWRU men’s swimming and diving team were recognized as Scholar All-Americans or honorable mentions by the CSCAA, based on their athletic and academic performances during the 2016-17 campaign.

  • Hudgins Breaks School Record; Men Finish 6th, Women 7th at UAA Championships

    Case Western Reserve University junior Oliver Hudgins broke the school record in the 200-yard backstroke to lead the Spartan men to a sixth-place finish, while the women place seventh, at the 2017 University Athletic Association Championships in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday.

    The Case Western Reserve University men’s 800-yard freestyle relay team of junior Drew Hamilton, junior Oliver Hudgins, sophomore Brody Schmidt and senior Andrew Henning finished second in the event and Hudgins placed third in the 200-yard freestyle to highlight the Spartans’ Friday night performances at the 2017 University Athletic Association Championships in Chicago, Illinois.

    The Case Western Reserve University men’s swimming and diving team picked up a 197-91 victory over Ohio Northern University on Saturday, while the women’s squad defeated ONU 243-54 and defeated NCAA Division II program Hillsdale College 150-141 in the Veale Natatorium.
  • Spartans to Host Ohio Northern and Hillsdale on Swimming & Diving ‘Senior Day’

    Following Winter Break and a training trip to Florida, the Case Western Reserve University swimming and diving teams will be back in the pool this weekend, when the teams host Ohio Northern University at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 21st. In addition, the Spartan women will be competing against NCAA Division II Hillsdale College, which only fields a women’s team.

    The Case Western Reserve University swimming and diving teams will make the trip to Grove City, Pennsylvania on Saturday, November 19th to compete in a quad meet against host Grove City College, Gannon University and the University of Rochester. The meet is slated for a 1:00 p.m. start on Saturday.

    The Case Western Reserve University swimming and diving teams competed in a tri-meet in the Veale Natatorium on Saturday afternoon, with the men earning a 196-97 win over Allegheny College, but falling 231-69 against Carnegie Mellon University. The women fell 203-97 against the Tartans.
  • CWRU Swimming & Diving Named CSCAA Community Service Team

    The Case Western Reserve University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams has been named a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Community Service Team. CWRU earned the recognition for their work during their winter training trip in South Florida, where they worked with a local nonprofit that helps provide food to those in the community who need it.

    The Case Western Reserve University swimming and diving teams will play host to Carnegie Mellon University and Allegheny College for a tri-meet at the Veale Natatorium on Saturday, October 29th. The diving portion of the meet will start at 11:00 a.m. and the swimming events are scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
