Kendra Simmons will serve as a student assistant on the Spartan coaching staff in 2012. Simmons’ playing career was cut short by one year due to a medical condition.

In 2011, the Medina-native was named a third-team NSCAA/Continental Tire All-American, becoming just the third All-American in program history. Simmons was also named NSCAA Collegiate Scholar All-American, first-team NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region and first-team All-UAA. She led the team and ranked 10th in the UAA with 18 points on seven goals and four assists. Her five game-winning goals set a school single-season record and led the conference.

In 44 career matches, the two-time All-UAA and three-time UAA All-Academic honoree totaled 37 points on 16 goals and five assists.
