Women’s Soccer Falls on the Road to Baldwin Wallace

Baldwin Wallace University's Kayla Webb broke a scoreless tie with a goal in the 80th minute on Wednesday night, as the Spartans fell to the Yellow Jackets 1-0 in Berea, Ohio.

The loss dropped the Spartans to 3-2-0 on the season, while Baldwin Wallace raised its season ledger to 3-3-0 with the victory.

Case Western Reserve finished the match with a 13-12 edge in total shots, despite a 3-1 deficit in shots on goal during the contest.  After being outshot 7-5 in the first half, the Spartans rallied for an 8-5 advantage in shots in the second period.

The Yellow Jackets scored the deciding goal when Webb heading in a free kick from Kenna Stones at the 79:18 mark.  It was her first goal of the season.

Sophomores Kimberly Chen and Ana Petropoulos each led Case Western Reserve with three total shots apiece, while senior Elle Zadina added two shots, including the team's only strike on goal in the game.  Sophomore Lauren Unterborn went the distance in goal for CWRU, record a pair of saves.

The Spartans will look to bounce back on Saturday, September 16th at 2:30 p.m., when the team returns to DiSanto Field to host Ohio Northern University.
