It's Day 3 here in Cape Town and we have a full day planned! The morning started with an excellent breakfast at our hotel, then we were off to our first activity for the day: surfing!

We drove out to a beach on the western Cape where we found our awesome surfing instructors. After struggling into a few wet suits, we were ready to hit the waves. The team broke up into small groups and learned how to get up on our boards on the sand. It is high tide season here in Cape Town, so the waves were abnormally fast and rowdy. After a few practice runs, everybody managed to catch at least one wave before falling. Our surfing savants were MK, Neha, Angelina, Elle, and Madeline...and what a way to celebrate Jenn Markley's birthday!!! After the lesson, the team shopped at the local stores and laid out on the beach. I think it's safe to say that some might have forgotten to put on enough sun screen (As seen in the sunburned noses of a few teammates).

Our second match of the trip was against University of the Western Cape. It was a hard fought match in the heat but Case came out with a 1-0 victory thanks to a great ball from Mel Kukura and a fantastic finish from Emily Dickens!! After the game, the home team hosted our team for dinner. We made some new friends and learned some new pregame rituals. If only we could sing like that!!

The evening was spent on our own exploring the picturesque waterfront and shopping. We ended the day exhausted, but everybody is looking forward to tomorrow which promises shark cage diving!
