The Case Western Reserve University wrestling team is set to host Otterbein University on Wednesday, January 11th at 7:00 p.m. in Horsburgh Gymnasium. Wednesday's match will serve as the first dual match of the season for the Spartans.

Freshmen Alec Hoover and Isaac Collier paced the Spartans at the sixth-annual Waynesburg Invitational on Saturday, notching a third-place and fifth-place finish in their respective weight classes. For the season, Hoover has totaled nine wins (9-7, two pins and two technical falls at the 133 pounds), while Collier currently leads CWRU with 13 wins (13-8 overall), including one pin and one technical fall.
Otterbein is 7-1 in dual matches during the 2016-17 campaign. The Cardinals feature a pair of wrestlers who have 11-1 records on the season, including Willy Plaisir, who has five pins in the 157-pound weight class, and Drew Kasper, who has one pin in the 197-pound weight class.
10 wrestlers are currently scheduled to compete for the Spartans, including senior Matt Moy or freshman Jacob Frisch (125 pounds), Alec Hoover (133 pounds), freshman Andrew Hoover (141 pounds), Collier (149 pounds), freshman Ben Kring (157 pounds), junior Connor Gordon (165 pounds), junior Nick Tommas (174 pounds), junior Cito Balsells (184 pounds), sophomore Gavin Dersh-Fisher (197 pounds) and sophomore Brian McNamara (285 pounds).
