Former Spartan standout Ashley Horton completed her second season with the women’s basketball coaching staff in 2012-13.
Horton, a native of Akron and a product of Archbishop Hoban High School, was a four-year letterwinner for the Spartans from 2004-05 to 2007-08 and became only the ninth player in program history to reach 1,000 career points during her senior season.
A two-time All-University Athletic Association selection, Horton ranks 11th in school history with 1,000 career points and second with 845 rebounds. Her 263 rebounds as a senior are also the third-highest total by a Spartan in a single season.
Horton graduated from Case Western Reserve in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and history. She then went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh in 2011.
