Spartan Women's Basketball Trio Named All-UAA

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Three members of the Case Western Reserve University women's basketball team have been named to the 2011 All-University Athletic Association Team, announced by the UAA office on Thursday, March 3. Highlighting the selections was a first-team nod for junior forward Erin Hollinger (Chardon, OH/Chardon).

In addition to Hollinger, sophomore guard Evy Iacono (Cincinnati, OH/Mount Notre Dame) received second-team honors and senior forward Caitlin Henry (Fairfax, VA/Robinson) was tabbed honorable mention.

Hollinger, now a three-time All-UAA selection, was first-team last season and second-team as afreshman in 2008-09. Recently named a national finalist for the Jostens Trophy, Hollinger averaged 16.8 points and 5.9 rebounds per game with 46 blocked shots this season. She led the UAA in both scoring and blocks and was named the league's Athlete of the Week on three separate occasions. In addition, shebecame just the 10th woman inCWRU basketball history to reach 1,000 career points. She ended the 2010-11 campaign in seventh place on the school's all-time list with 1,093 points.

Iacono earns All-UAA honors for the first time in her young career. She was second onthe team in scoring at 12.4 ppg, while averaging 5.0 rpg and a team-high 4.6 assists. Her 27 points in a victory at Emory University (GA) on January 21 was a career and team-high this season.

Henry finishes her career as a two-time honorable mention pick. She averaged 10.3 points and 5.7 rebounds and became the 11th woman in school history to reach 1,000 career points. With 1,020 points for her career, Henry ranks ninth on the all-time CWRU list.

The Spartans finished the season at 13-12 overall and 7-7 in the UAA. The winning season was Case's third in head coach Jennifer Reimer's four-year tenure and the .500 UAA slate was the best for the program since a 10-4 finish in 2001-02.
