Spartan Softball to Wrap-Up Season against Baldwin Wallace on Monday

The Case Western Reserve University softball team will wrap-up its 2016 season on Monday, April 25th, when the team hosts a doubleheader against Baldwin Wallace University at Mather Park, starting at 3:30 p.m.

CWRU Spartans
Case Western Reserve will enter the game with a 19-19 overall record, including a 6-2 home record.  The team has won nine of its last 12 games, including a sweep of a doubleheader at Kenyon last Wednesday.  The Spartans are batting .313 and have averaged 5.2 runs per game, while the pitching staff has a 3.61 ERA and a .289 opponents' batting average.

The Spartans are under the leadership of Head Coach Josie Henry, who is now in her sixth season with the team, and has a career record of 145-98, good for a .593 winning percentage.  Henry is assisted by Ashley Parello, Molly O'Brien and Natalie DeMatteis.

Baldwin Wallace is 10-22 on the season, including a 2-8 road ledger, and has lost its last five games, including a pair of setbacks against Capital in their last outing.  The squad is batting .227 and has scored 2.5 runs per game this season, while the pitching staff has a 4.45 earned run average with a .324 opponents' batting average.

Baldwin Wallace is coached by Tom Spencer, who is in his 13th season with the team, and has a career record of 242-222 with the team.  He is assisted by Gary Saunders, Joe Yocabet and Lauren Sabolik.

Matchup History
The teams last played during the 2014 season, with the squads splitting a doubleheader in Berea.  Baldwin Wallace won the first game 3-2 in eight innings, while the Spartans came back in the second game with a 4-3 win in eight innings.
