  • Spartan Club Inducts Six New Members into Hall of Fame

    Case Western Reserve University, in conjunction with the Spartan Club, inducted six new members into the Hall of Fame on Saturday, October 7th, in addition to honoring longtime CWRU ball boys Ronald and Donald Cunningham.

    Thirteen Case Western Reserve University student-athletes were named to the ninth-annual University Athletic Association Presidents Council Scholar-Athlete Team, as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.
  • CWRU Track & Field Claims USTFCCCA Academic Honors

    The Case Western Reserve University men’s and women’s track and field teams were recognized as All-Academic Teams by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), while seven members of the team – seniors Nathaniel Wahner, Galen Caldwell and Temi Omilabu, juniors Sam Merriman and Cassandra Laios, and freshmen Jonathan Haling and Brian Holden - each claimed individual All-Academic honors.

    The Spartan Club, in coordination with the Case Western Reserve University Department of Athletics, has announced its 2017 Hall of Fame Class – Aaron Johnston-Peck (Cross Country/ Track & Field, CWRU ’07), David Kallevig (Football, CWRU ’05), Carson Oren (Men’s Basketball, CWRU ’06), Meredith Stakem (Swimming & Diving, CWRU ’03), Ed Trebets (Football & Baseball, CWRU ’93), heritage selection Jack Larimer (Track & Field, WRU ’63) and special category inductee Si Ostrach.

    Case Western Reserve University senior sprinter Nathaniel Wahner and the men’s 4x400-meter relay team of Wahner, junior Andrew Ibibo, sophomore Joseph Cabral and freshman Jonathan Haling have qualified for the 2017 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships that will be held on May 25th-27th in Geneva, Ohio. Wahner will be competing individually in the 200-meter and 400-meter dash, while also running the anchor of the 4x400-meter relay.

Wahner has been named the UAA Men’s Most Outstanding Running Events Performer, while Oddo has earned the UAA Men’s Rookie of the Year honor.
