    Four From Spartan Track & Field to Compete at NCAA Championship Meet INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The field has been announced for the 2011 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship. Amongst the 796 participants are four from Case Western Reserve University. Senior Justine Jeroski (Murrysville, Pa./ Franklin Regional) along with juniors Erin Hollinger (Chardon, Ohio/Chardon), Ty Shaffer (Myersville, Md./Middletown Senior) and Matt Jurcak (Olmsted Falls, Ohio/Olmsted Falls) will represent the Spartans on Thursday-Saturday, May 26-28 at Selby Field and George Gauthier Track in Delaware, Ohio.

    Hollinger Hits Automatic Mark, Shaffer Provisional as Spartans Compete at Gator Invitational MEADVILLE, Pa. - Select members of the Case Western Reserve University men’s and women’s track & field teams competed at the fifth annual Gator Invitational hosted by Allegheny College on Friday, May 13 at Frank B. Fuhrer Field. For the women, junior Erin Hollinger (Chardon, Ohio/Chardon) hit an NCAA automatic qualifying mark in the high jump. On the men‘s side, senior Ty Shaffer (Myersville, Md./Middletown Senior) bettered his provisional mark in the 400-meter hurdles.

The men rank fourth behind a championship performance from freshman Harry Weintraub (Croton on Hudson, NY/Hendrick Hudson) and the women are also in fourth position as junior thrower Amanda Kline (Lancaster, OH/Lancaster) turned in two second-place finishes and an NCAA provisional qualifying mark.

    Spartan Track & Field Teams Edged by Rival CMU in Battle for the Obelisk; Kline Sets Indoor Shot Put Record CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Case Western Reserve University track & field teams were edged by one point, 127-126, in dual meet action versus rival Carnegie Mellon University (PA). The Spartan women won their side of the meet, 79-47, but the men fell, 80-47, giving CMU the higher combined point total and claim to the Obelisk Trophy. Junior Amanda Kline (Lancaster, OH/Lancaster) highlighted the day for the Spartans with an indoor school-record throw in the shot put.
