UPDATE: 12th-Ranked Spartans to Host RIT & Ohio Wesleyan; Matches Moved Back Outside

The Case Western Reserve University men's tennis team, ranked 12th in Division III, will play its final matches prior to the 2017 University Athletic Association Championships this weekend, hosting the Rochester Institute of Technology and Ohio Wesleyan University at the Carlton Courts on the campus of CWRU.

The Spartans are now scheduled to face RIT at 8:30 a.m., followed by a 4:00 p.m. match against Ohio Wesleyan.  Sandwiched inbetween the two CWRU matches will be a contest between RIT and Ohio Wesleyan at 12:00 p.m.  More schedule changes are possible due to changing weather conditions.

Case Western Reserve will enter the match with an overall record of 17-4, five wins shy of the program record with seven matches remaining on the schedule.  CWRU is 7-2 at home this year, including a 1-0 mark on the Carlton Courts, and is on a seven-match winning streak entering the weekend.  The Spartans were ranked third in the latest Central Region poll, released on Thursday, and feature the region's 16th-ranked singles player in senior James Fojtasek, and the 15th-ranked doubles team in senior Fred Daum and sophomore John Benedetto.

RIT will enter the weekend with a 1-7 overall record, with a 0-6 mark in road matches.  The Tigers have dropped their last three matches, including a 9-0 loss to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Sunday.

Ohio Wesleyan stands at 14-6 overall on the season, including a 1-2 road record, and has won each of its last two contests.  The Battling Bishops most recently topped Wooster 6-3 on Thursday afternoon at home.

Full results and a recap of the two CWRU matches will be posted to athletics.case.edu following the completion of competition on Saturday.  Fans can also get updates via the team's official twitter account @casetennis1.
