PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Case Western Reserve University sophomore Christopher Krimbill (Scottsdale, Ariz./Desert Mountain) has been selected as the University Athletic Association Men's Tennis Player of the Week, announced the league office Monday afternoon. Krimbill earns the honor for the third time this season and fourth time in his young career.
Krimbill was 2-0 at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in matches versus Oberlin College and No. 11 nationally ranked Carnegie Mellon University (Pa.) this past weekend.
The top-ranked player in the ITA Central Region, Krimbill won a three-setter (6-7, 6-2, 6-2) versus CMU's Abhishek Alla, the top-ranked player in the Atlantic South Region. Krimbill is now 18-4 in singles play and 18-2 in doubles action this season.
The No. 8 Spartans (11-5) have an important weekend approaching with three matches in two days in Chicago. CWRU plays No. 30 University of Chicago at 2:00 p.m. (CT) on Friday, April 11 then No. 2 Washington University in St. Louis and Coe College (Iowa) on Saturday, Apr. 12 at 11:00 a.m. (CT) and 4:00 p.m. (CT), respectively.
