PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Case Western Reserve University sophomore Christopher Krimbill (Scottsdale, Ariz./Desert Mountain) has been selected as the University Athletic Association Men's Tennis Co-Player of the Week, announced the league office Monday afternoon. Krimbill earns the honor for the first time this season and second time in his career.
The reigning UAA Rookie of the Year and ITA All-American went 4-0 and won the Flight A singles bracket this weekend at the Kenyon College Invitational. Krimbill headlined the season-opening weekend that featured four bracket champions from Case Western Reserve.
Krimbill did not drop a set until to the final round where he defeated junior teammate Will Drougas by scores of 3-6, 6-3, 6-3. In the previous rounds, Krimbill defeated Phillip Locklear of Earlham College (Ind.), Davis Thrailkill of Kenyon and Colin Haas of Kenyon.
The Spartans next head to West Lafayette, Indiana to compete at the Purdue University Invitational from Friday, September 20 through Sunday, Sept. 22.
