No. 19 Spartan Men’s Tennis Team Drops Spring Opener at No. 7 Kenyon, 8-1

GAMBIER, Ohio – In a battle of two nationally-ranked squads, the No. 19 Case Western Reserve University men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to No. 7 Kenyon College late Friday night at the Kenyon Athletic Center.

The Spartans were swept in doubles play with the No. 3 duo of senior captain Rohan Patel (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) and sophomore Eric Klawitter (Arlington Heights, Ill./John Hersey) coming the closest, falling 8-6 to Josh Stiles and Tim Rosensteel.

Sophomore John Healey (Columbia, Md./Atholton) picked up Case's lone point of the contest, earning a 7-5, 6-3 decision versus Jake Matthews at No. 6 singles.

The Spartans remain in Gambier to play another nationally-ranked opponent, No. 12 North Carolina Wesleyan University, at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.
