CLEVELAND, Ohio – Case Western Reserve University men’s tennis junior Sean Carr (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) has been named a second-team Capital One Academic All-District IV selection, announced the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday, May 19.

Spartan Men's Tennis Ends Season with Highest National Ranking in Program History
SKILLMAN, N.J. – Following a fifth-place performance at the 2011 University Athletic Association Championship Tournament, the Case Western Reserve University men’s tennis team now knows that its season ended with the highest ranking in program history. The Spartans were tabbed No. 20 in the nation according to the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association national team rankings released on April 14.

Spartans Go 2-0 on Day Two of UAA Championships, Claim Fifth Place
BEVERLY, Mass. – The Case Western Reserve University men’s tennis team held off a late charge by New York University, winning the deciding singles match to earn a 5-4 win and moved on to defeat Brandeis University (MA) 5-2 on Saturday, April 16 at the Bass River Tennis Club on day two of the 2011 University Athletic Association Championship. Case claimed fifth-place overall at the weekend tournament with the wins.

Spartan Men's Tennis Swept by #5 Washington (Mo.) in UAA Championship Opener
WALTHAM, Mass. – The Case Western Reserve University men’s tennis team fell 9-0 to third-seeded and No. 5 nationally-ranked Washington University (MO) in its first match at the 2011 University Athletic Association Championship on Friday, April 15 at the Joseph F. and Clara Ford Athletic and Recreation Complex outdoor tennis courts. With the loss, the Spartans dropped to 10-8 in dual match play and 3-4 against top-30 competition.

Spartan Men's Tennis Splits Saturday Matches to Finish Third at GLCA Tourney
KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Case Western Reserve University men's tennis team lost 6-2 against Carnegie Mellon University (PA) in its morning matchup, but rebounded to win 5-4 against No. 25 Denison University in the third-place match on day two of the Great Lakes Invitational. With the split, the Spartans moved to 10-7 overall on the season.

ALBION, Mich. –The Case Western Reserve University men's tennis team picked up its fifth straight dual match win, 8-1, versus Wabash College (IN) on day one of the Great Lakes Invitational. The Spartans dropped just one singles match and swept the doubles slate to improve to 9-6 overall.

Spartan Men's Tennis Team Draws Fourth Seed at Upcoming Great Lakes Invite
ALBION, Mich. – The Case Western Reserve University men’s tennis team will travel to the 2011 Great Lakes Invitational this weekend (Friday-Saturday, April 8-9) and will compete against some of the best Division III competition in the region. The two-day, 12-team tournament will be hosted by Albion College (MI) and Kalamazoo College (MI) with matches taking place at 10 different indoor and outdoor courts across southern Michigan.

ERIE, Pa. – The Case Western Reserve University men's tennis team defeated Allegheny College (PA) by a score of 8-1 on Friday night, April 1 at Pennbriar Racquet Club in Erie, Pennsylvania. With the win, the Spartans, ranked seventh regionally, improved to 7-6 on the season.

Spartans Enjoy Successful Weekend at USTA/ITA Regionals in Michigan
KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Case Western Reserve University men’s tennis team spent the weekend competing at the USTA/ITA Central Region Championships at Kalamazoo College (MI) and compiled a 31-17 team record, including an 11-5 mark in doubles play over the course of the three day (Friday-Saturday, September 24-26) tournament. The Spartans saw two doubles teams advance to the quarterfinals and another reach the semifinals for the first time in program history.

CWRU Men's Tennis Kicks Off Season at Purdue Fall Invitational
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Case Western Reserve University men’s tennis team kicked off its 2010-11 slate this weekend at the Purdue University (IN) Fall Invitational at the Schwartz Tennis Center. The tournament field was comprised mostly of Division I institutions and featured some of the top teams from throughout the region.
