Matt O'Neill was named the Diving Coach for Case Western Reserve University in the summer of 2015.
In his first season with the team, O'Neill helped mentor Connor Farrell to an All-America honor in the three-meter dive, as he became the first diver in the program's history to earn an All-America honor. In addition, O'Neill coached Farrell to the UAA Diver of the Year award and a UAA Championship in the three-meter dive, as the senior set CWRU records on both boards.
O'Neill also serves as the Assistant Coach for the American Flyers Diving team in Solon, Ohio, and has previous Head Diving Coach experience at Rocky River High School, Westlake High School and Amherst High School. He has also worked as a coach for the Mayfield Sand Ridge Country Club and North Coast Diving in Ohio, and both University High School and WV Aquatics in West Virginia.
O’Neill received his bachelor’s degree in Athletic Coaching Education from West Virginia University in 2013. While attending WVU, he was a four-year varsity diver for the Mountaineers, setting program records in the one- and three-meter dives, and was the Big East Conference runner-up in 2012.
