CWRU Men Complete Competition at NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships

The Case Western Reserve University men's swimming and diving wrapped-up competition at the 2017 NCAA Division III Championships in Shenandoah, Texas on Saturday, finishing in 40th-place at the meet.

Junior Drew Hamilton swam a time of 16:03.82 in the 1,650-yard freestyle to finish 19th in the event, while junior Oliver Hudgins finished 24th in the preliminaries of the 200-yard backstroke with a mark of 1:50.59.

Also on Saturday, the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Hamilton, senior Andrew Henning, Hudgins and sophomore Brody Schmidt finished 21st in the preliminaries of the event with a time of 3:07.47.

Case Western Reserve totaled 11 points during the four-day meet to finish in 40th-place out of 50 teams that scored at the NCAA Championships. Emory won the meet with 438 points, followed by Kenyon (384 points) and Denison (371 points).

The meet concludes the 2016-17 season for the Spartans.
