Spartan Men’s Soccer Falls 1-0 to No. 12 Ohio Northern

The Case Western Reserve University men' soccer team dropped a road match against the No. 12 Ohio Northern University Polar Bears, 1-0, on Saturday night.

The drop brings the Spartans to 2-3-1 overall this season, while the Polar Bears improve to 7-0-1 on the season.

The only score of the match came when ONU's Tommy Troy found the back of the net via an assist from Nathan Libertowski in the 37th minute.

The second half saw Ohio Northern control the pace for a majority of the 45 minutes.

Statistically, the Spartans outshot the Polar Bears, 18-16. Ohio Northern held the advantage in corners, 9-2.

Junior goalkeeper Calvin Boyle wound up with six saves.

The Spartans will return to the pitch on Tuesday when they travel to University Heights to face John Carroll University at 7:30 p.m.
