The Case Western Reserve University men's soccer team fell 1-0 in overtime to the University of Chicago in a University Athletic Association game Friday evening in Chicago.

The Spartans drop to 12-3-1 overall and 3-2-0 in the UAA, while Chicago upped its record to 10-4-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the UAA.

A tight match through the very end, Chicago found the net just within the 93rd minute of play. The leading scorer for the Maroons this season, Brenton-Neal Desai, scored his tenth goal overall off of a penalty kick for the win.

The overtime PK was awarded after the Spartans were ruled to have taken down Chicago's Matthew Koh in the box following a corner kick.

Sophomore goalkeeper Calvin Boyle turned away four shots in the loss.  Senior midfielder Alex Masciopinto, senior forward Matthew Zembas, freshman midfielder Noah Kleedtke and freshman defender Alex Besl each finished the game with one shot on goal.  CWRU totaled 14 shots during the game.

The Spartans will be back in action on Sunday, November 1st, taking on the No. 11 Washington University (Mo.) Bears for a 2:30 p.m. game time.
