CWRU Athletics Set for Frenzy of February Athletic Events

CLEVELAND, Ohio – There will be no shortage of championship and promotional athletic events at Case Western Reserve University this February, as the Spartan Athletic Department prepares to close out the winter sports season in fashion with a month full of happenings at the Veale Center.

With its recent run of school record-breaking success, CWRU athletics has been no stranger to hosting a multitude of varsity events throughout the academic year. Just this past fall, the department hosted a pair of NCAA Championship Tournaments on the same weekend in addition to its home athletic schedule and 11 tournament/meet style events.

Now with the winter sports season heading into its final full month, Spartan Athletics prepares for its busiest four-week stretch in recent memory, starting with the seventh annual Throwback Weekend on Feb. 3-5 and ending with the NCAA Division III Wrestling Midwest Regional on February 25.

“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to host two UAA Championships and to have been selected to host an NCAA Regional Championship event," said Director of Athletics Dave Diles. "We enjoy welcoming our peers to our campus and our community and are committed to providing an outstanding competitive experience for all of our guests. In addition, seeing our student-athletes in competition at the highest levels allows our campus community to witness the special talents and dedication which they possess.”
