CLEVELAND, Ohio – Case Western Reserve University Director of Athletics Dave Diles has announced the promotion of Brian Carpenter to Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Compliance. Carpenter has served as a facility supervisor at CWRU since 2005.

“Throughout his seven years in our department, Brian has demonstrated great professional growth, and his organizational, communication and management skills clearly will serve our department well as he accepts this new opportunity,” said Diles. “It is always gratifying to see individuals advance within an organization.”

Carpenter is responsible for the day-to-day operations and coordination of the university’s athletic and recreation facilities in addition to overseeing compliance for the 19 NCAA Division III teams at Case Western Reserve. During his time at CWRU, Carpenter has served as a site manager for a multitude of University Athletic Association and NCAA Championship events, and he has served as a facility liaison for a number of special campus and non-campus events at the university.

A native of Boonville, New York, Carpenter graduated from Syracuse University in 2000. He then spent three years as a facilities/event management and recreation intern at Buffalo State College (N.Y.) before serving for four years as a building manager at the University of Baltimore, Maryland County.

Carpenter earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education from Syracuse and later completed a Master of Sport Administration at Canisius College (N.Y.) in 2002.

He and his wife, Kate, reside in Moreland Hills with their sons, Will and Ben.
