Mark Murray joined the Case Western Reserve University football staff prior to the start of the 2016 season. The 35-year coaching veteran will serve as an assistant coach, working with the Spartans’ offensive line.
Murray comes to Case Western Reserve after spending the previous six seasons at Stony Brook University, where he coached the team’s tight ends and offensive line, and served as the program’s Director of High School Relations. From 2006-09, he was the Tight End Coach at Yale University. He has also worked as an Offensive Line Coach at American International College (1982), the University of Albany (1982), Wagner College (1983-97), The United States Naval Academy (1988-94) and Bowling Green State University (1996-98).
In addition to his collegiate experience, Murray has also coached in the Canadian Football League, serving as the Offensive Line Coach for the Toronto Argonauts in 1995, and as the Offensive Line and Running Backs Coach for the Hamilton Tiger Cats from 1999-2005.
Murray graduated from American International in 1982 with a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, while playing on the offensive line for the school’s football team from 1978-82. He earned a certificate of advanced graduate studies from Wagner in 1984.
