Phan Selected as Final UAA Football Athlete of the Week

Case Western Reserve University junior wide receiver Justin Phan was named the final University Athletic Association Football Athlete of the Week of the 2017 season, after his strong performance during the team's 45-16 loss to the second-ranked University of Mount Union in the second round of the NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday in Alliance, Ohio.

Phan had a career day, catching 12 passes for a career-high 169 yards, including a season-long 60 yard catch in the second quarter that setup one of the team's two touchdowns.  It was the most receptions and yards allowed to a receiver by the Mount Union defense this season, and just the second 100 yard receiving game allowed to a receiver by the Purple Raiders in 2017.

Phan finished the year with 62 receptions for 778 yards and seven touchdowns, all career highs.  This was his fourth UAA Athlete of the Week honor of the season.

The Spartans ended their 2017 season with an 11-1 overall record.
