Kung Fu Competes in Windsor

The Kung Fu Club sent a team of 11 members and their instructor to Windsor, ON, Canada for a tournament on November 5, 2011.  Pictured are the members showing off some kung fu moves along the Detroit River before traveling to the tournament site for weigh-ins/registration.  The members competed in various events including Shuai Chiao (Chinese Wrestling), Open Hand Forms, Weapon Forms, and sparring.  The team earned an overall Third Prize award for their Shuai Chiao excellence and individual members also did well in various events:

Keegan Conry: Novice Open Hand Forms- Gold, Novice Weapons Forms- Silver, Novice Sparring- Silver, Men's Shuai Chiao (150-163lbs)- 4th Place
Elanor Drushel: Intermediate Open Hand Forms- Gold, Intermediate Weapons Forms- Silver, Women's Shuai Chiao- Bronze
Shannon Harkin: Women's Shuai Chiao- Gold, Intermediate Open Hand Forms- Bronze, Intermediate Weapons Forms- Bronze
James Herceg: Black Belt Open Hand Forms- Bronze, Black Belt Weapons Forms- Bronze, Men's Shuai Chiao(164-180lbs)- 4th Place
Mike Kwasny: Novice Weapons Forms- Gold
Katie Welch: Novice Open Hand Forms- Bronze, Novice Weapons Forms- Bronze
Ray Zackowski: Men's Shuai Chiao- 4th Place
